The Pioneer of Modern Triking

Can-Am, a division of BRP (Bombardier Recreational Products), essentially created the modern recreational trike segment when they launched the Spyder in 2007. Their approach is distinctly different from traditional motorcycle manufacturers — Can-Am designs their machines from the ground up as three-wheeled vehicles, with no pretence of being converted motorcycles.

Two Philosophies, One Brand

  • Ryker — the entry-level, playful, affordable option. Lighter, nimbler, and available with 600cc or 900cc engines. Perfect for new riders and weekend fun.
  • Spyder — the touring flagship. Heavier, more stable, with the 1330cc Rotax triple engine. Built for cross-continental touring with every comfort feature imaginable.

The Australian Connection

Can-Am has one of the strongest dealer networks in Australia, making them the most accessible trike brand for local riders. Their vehicles are particularly well-suited to Australian conditions — the Spyder's stability is ideal for long-distance outback touring, while the Ryker's agility suits the twisty mountain roads of the east coast.

"Can-Am didn't just build a trike — they created a category. And they've been refining it ever since."
